ETA Films, led by Eric Brenner, will collaborate with Alexander Nevsky and his Hollywood Storm shingle on developing and producing the biopic “Hedy,” a full-length motion picture about the life of Hollywood icon and inventor Hedy Lamarr. Oscar winning writer and producer Nick Vallelonga (“Green Book”) is in talks to join the project with an eye on directing.
As a Jewish refugee from Hitler’s Austria and already a celebrity on account of her nude appearance as a teenager in the steamy German film “Ecstasy,” Hedy Kiesler (with her new stage name “Lamarr”) was signed by Louis B. Mayer. Heralded as one of the most beautiful women in the world, Lamarr pursued inventing after long days on the set. Her contributions led to a discovery that was to change the course of history and ultimately become the basis for bluetooth and wifi.
Producer and financier Eric Brenner’s credits include “Crazy Heart,” “Boychoir,” “Kidnapping Mr. Heineken,” “Erased,” “Stuck in Love,” and “Misconduct” among others.
Alexander Nevsky recently produced a string of successful international action movies (“Black Rose,” “Showdown in Manila,” “Maximum Impact”). He is also an active member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and he votes for the Golden Globe Awards.
